DELIVERY DRIVER/WAREHOUSE
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to lift multiple 50 - 100 pound boxes and bags (in a row).
- Applicant must have a satisfactory driving record.
- Applicant may be required to pass a physical as specified by the Dept. of Transportation prior to beginning employment (sometimes deferred to after hiring).
- If invited to interview, applicant will be required to provide additional personal details as required for the delivery driving portion of the job as specified by the Dept. of Transportation.
- Employee may be required to trim/remove facial hair because we use dust/mist respirators (provided by us) while working in potentially dusty situations or, if employee chooses to keep facial hair, the employee will need to purchase their own respirator designed for use with facial hair.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary job responsibilities include making deliveries in company vehicles to schools, universities, businesses, and individuals primarily in the Kansas City to Topeka areas. There is no overnight travel required for this job - all deliveries occur within regular business hours.
Employee will also work in the warehouse when not making deliveries. Those responsibilities may include (but not limited to): building and palletizing orders, preparing orders for customer or freight company pick up, using a forklift and powered and manual pallet jacks, receiving freight shipments, inventory control/monitoring, customer service while loading orders into vehicles, weighing out glaze chemicals and clays for orders, and general cleaning and maintenance. Good basic math skills (adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing) and decent handwriting (filling out basic forms, etc.) are a must for this job.
OTHER STUFF:
This is a casual work environment. Jeans and t-shirts are common attire for most employees. Work boots (steel toed are preferred) are strongly encouraged. As long as an employee is presentable, things like hair length, tattoos, and piercings are okay (provided visible tattoos are not profane). Our customers are extremely varied in things like appearance, ethnicity, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, and cultural backgrounds and any serious applicant must understand and be comfortable with this and not have any problems dealing with such a varied, artistic customer base.

SHIPPING/STOCK CLERK
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Applicant must have some computer knowledge (know how to use the internet, email, & basic programs - you will be shown how to use the UPS shipping software and other LTL freight company software/websites).
- Applicant must have a good writing and basic math skills. Must also be personable and able to help customers on the phone and in person.
- Employee may be required to trim/remove facial hair because we use dust/mist respirators (provided by us) while working in potentially dusty situations or, if employee chooses to keep facial hair, the employee will need to purchase their own respirator designed for use with facial hair.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary job responsibilities include processing daily small package orders (by creating sales orders/invoices, pulling stock items, properly packaging for shipment, and entering the packages into the UPS software system), receiving stock and checking it in, maintaining showroom stock, light cleaning (dusting shelves, cleaning bathrooms & floors, etc.), processing paperwork on outgoing freight shipments, answering phones, and greeting/helping customers. No prior knowledge of clay/ceramics is necessary. As you learn and absorb more information, you will be given more responsibilities. For example, when you start, you may only be required to answer phones and route calls or answer basic questions (business hours, directions, etc.), but as you learn, you will probably be able to help a customer in the store with tool or book suggestions, etc. The more you learn, the more valuable you become to us.
